The experience begins with an early morning briefing at the park’s headquarters, where you will be introduced to your guide and assigned to a gorilla group. The guides are experienced trackers and have an intimate knowledge of the forest and its inhabitants. They will brief you on the rules and regulations of the park, the behavior of the gorillas, and what to expect during the trek.

The trek can be challenging and strenuous, as you will be hiking through dense forest, steep slopes, and uneven terrain. But as you trek, you will be surrounded by the sounds and sights of the forest, including birds, monkeys, and other wildlife.

When you finally reach the gorillas, you will have a chance to spend an hour observing them in their natural habitat. You will be amazed by their human-like behaviors and the close bonds they share with each other. You can watch as they play, groom, and eat, and you might even get to witness a mother nursing her young.

As you observe the gorillas, you will realize how important it is to protect them and their habitat. The Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is home to more than half of the world’s remaining mountain gorilla population, and the park’s conservation efforts have been critical in their survival.

After your hour with the gorillas, you will hike back to the park’s headquarters, where you will receive a certificate for completing the trek. This certificate is a tangible reminder of the incredible experience you just had and the vital importance of protecting these magnificent creatures.
